"I'm not... quite dead"

Movie quote? Anyone?

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still here and alive and well. It's been a couple weeks since I posted if you hadn't noticed. Things are busy over here, but nothing really that blog-worthy. Here's some of the things that have been going on around here:

*We're planning a surprise. I can probably say it's for my sister because I have two and I don't think either of them read my blog. I'll post more about that when the surprise is complete.

*The girls were sick...and Bryce. Fever and a cold and all around not feeling good. Jayden, Josh and I stayed well. I have a militant immune system. And I have to say, although it sounds horrible, I prefer it when the girls aren't feeling well. It's selfish I know, but it really makes my life easier. They stay in one place for long periods of time, take their naps easier and longer, they're less destructive...really the house is just more peaceful. As opposed to yesterday when I left the room for a few minutes to find an entire box of cereal, a container of grapes and other food items on the floor covering our entire dining room and three 2 year olds dancing on top of the table.

*Josh is officially the new owner/president of Oregon Web team...I know, crazy right? It's a long story and I'll tell it to you sometime. But I can tell you this, I DO believe it's a God thing. And I'm crazy-proud of my husband.

*Our neighbor with the dog that has eaten lots of our chickens invested in a new shock collar for the dog. Now the dog gets shocked if he goes more than 90 feet from their door. I can't tell you how happy this has made me.

*A tree fell on our house. When the wind was blowing so hard, I couldn't sleep for fear of a tree falling on our house...Down the street there was a HUGE fir tree that totally smashed a house and we have about 20 or so trees on our 1/4 acre property. One did end up falling, but actually it was a small tree, must have fallen slowly and carefully because I never even heard it, it didn't do any damage that we can see and actually might be a blessing because we're almost out of firewood and the tree was so dead that we might be able to just burn it. We'll see. Manna from the heavens!

*I've been doing a lot of work for the cafe at church. A lot of work. I wish I could get paid for all the time I've put into it...I mean, I went into it knowing it was a volunteer position...and I'm not complaining...but it does take a lot of time. I'm also thinking of getting a part time job as a waitress or a barista. But they're sort of hard to find right now.

Well, that's basically it. Not really, but those are the highlights. Gotta go make coffee.

So glad to hear that you are alive and well and surviving sickness and wind! Corbett looks like a tornado blew through, and that house is very scary to look at it. I, too, have a fear of one of the many tall trees falling on our house, thankfully nothing yet!

You HAVE had a lot of things going on in your past few weeks. Sorry to hear about the tree. I hope it didn't do any damage to the house or roof.

Glad to hear how things have been for you. And that you're still alive!
