Expelled

Last night Josh and I watched a documentary by Ben Stein called, Expelled. I didn't expect to like it. I didn't expect for it to touch me. I didn't expect to get teary. But I did. It is a very powerful documentary about Evolution vs. Intelligent Design being taught in our schools and in our mainstream media. But to my surprise (and horror, really) it goes much deeper than that! If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend watching it. I think as Christians, we need to be informed about things like this so that we can have the tools to stand up for what is right when the time comes.

**Oh, and for anyone who is interested, I have a potty update! The girls continue to be fabulous! We have yet to get an actual #2, but there have been very few accidents. They get so excited to go and they even cheer for their sisters! Whoo Hoo!

Please don't make the mistake of taking Expelled at face value. Expelled is a fraud.

Thank you for your comment, anonymous...but I disagree. I am leaving your comment and link up so people can check it out for themselves. However, I am also providing a link for the movie review provided by Focus on the Family. A website that I know and trust:

Did you know that I am a total creation nerd!? I watch a lot of DVD's from scientists who are Christians and LOVE to talk about it. Lately, I am trying to convince Christians more than unbelievers that Gen. 1 is factual/literal and that you CAN'T fit evolution into it ANYWHERE. (A day is a day, the world was created with age, etc.) There are huge ramifications to not believing one aspect of the Bible. Where does it end?

As to it being taught in public schools: I have TA'd in the public schools and from early on--K and 1st grade, evolution is taught/mentioned--in Science, in math, reading. Every subject talks about millions of years ago. There is NO alternative theory. It is not taught as a theory. It is taught as a fact.

I will step down now (off the soap box) and take my preaching hat off. I have yet to see the movie but have other Creation nerds who have highly recommended it. I am going to go out this weekend and watch it and have my two daughters watch it as well. I thank God for people like Ben S. who are fighting for this cause.

    One other thing...
Our church recently had a speaker visit who goes all over the world and debates atheists. His name is Dinesh D'Souza. He was fabulous. Here is the link http://www.goodshepherdfamily.com/november-2006/audio-search/

He has also written some books. He talks about how our children are being groomed to take God out of their thinking and replace it with science and how Christain kids can be lost once they hit college if they are not firmly grounded in the word of God and their believes. I really think that not believing in creation can start the ball rolling and you better believe that colleges and high school will pound it into their brains as FACT.

My hands are hurting from typing so hard!
