Thank God for laminate floors
I guess I'm just doing too much. Trying to cram too much into each day. This morning I was in the middle of painting a table for our room black. When the girls went down for their morning nap, I got out all the paint stuff again in order to do the second coat. I finished and put away all the painting supplies...or so I thought. I went upstairs to do some work in our room upstairs. When the girls woke up, I let them get out and play. During an extended period of quietness I happened to look over and find Kynden and Ellyanna playing in none other than *gasp* a growing puddle of black paint spreading all over our new floor. I had inadvertently left out the can of paint I was using and the girls had dumped it all over the floor.
Of course the natural thing to do was to start freaking out and yelling. This of course was doing me no good. The only thing I could think of to do was to grab Ellyanna who was the closest to me and take her to the bathtub. I threw her in (without water or anything..just somewhere easy to clean that would keep them corralled) and proceeded to run and get Kynden who of course had started to crawl after me, trailing the puddle of paint about ten feet towards the bathroom. I throw Kynden in the tub and rush back to work on the paint puddle. Like the title says...thank God we had the good sense to put our money into laminate floors. The paint cleaned up well. *Just a little side note here..while I was cleaning, Jayden was watching me and gave me some advice. He said, "Mommy, you're not really dumb old...you're just old. Kind of. I have no idea what this means, but I thought it was funny.* When I finished with the floor, I went into the bathroom to start on the girls.
This is what I found.
I stripped off the pj's and put them to soak in the sink. I then proceeded to scrub babies with soap and one of those body poof things. (I have found that they are great for removing paint from skin.) The girls did not like this process very well.
This is the wash cycle.
After the wash cycle I drained the water and started with clean water and repeated the process. After the bath was done, I then had to (of course) scrub the bathtub. I put the soaking pajamas into the washer along with a couple other things that got saturated with paint. Amazingly enough they actually came clean! I was pleasantly surprised!
After about an hour worth of work everything was finally put back to normal. I'm going to be a little more careful about paint from now on. It's different with 3 one year olds.
*PS. Colette, these are pics of our new bathtub covered in black paint.* =)

Oh my goodness! I can't even imagine what went through your head at the time.....but I'm thankful you grabbed your camera and let us get a glimpse. This one ranks up there (maybe even above Allison/Ava's projectile poop picture).
