My Husband

On next Tuesday, December 5th, Josh and I will have been married for 8 years. 8 years! So in honor of our anniversary, I wanted to write a little bit about my husband. I adore him like I never thought possible. He is my best friend. There is no one in the whole world that I enjoy spending time with as much as him. I could be with him day and night, night and day around the clock and still it wouldn't feel like enough time with him. He makes me laugh. He makes me feel safe. He is the one that I go to when my feelings have been hurt or my heart has been broken and he is always there for me. When I ask him for help, he always helps. Even when he doesn't want to because he knows it's important to me. He is a wonderful father to our 5 kids. He tells the boys he loves them every day. He plays games with them, watches movies with them and plays outside. He is even going to coach Bryce's basketball team this year. He adores our girls. His face lights up with joy when he sees them or gets to hold them. He loves to see them smile.

My husband is faithful and loyal even to a fault. He is dependable and a hard worker. He is great with people and I have never heard anyone say an unkind word about him..everyone loves him because he treats people with respect and is kind to them. He gives of his time and talents freely. And always he is very generous.

Two weekends ago Josh and I got to go for a weekend to the beach. We were able to talk about our future together and what it held and what our dreams for it were. It was so nice to be able to finally hear some of the things that he thinks about and some of the things that he wants for us and for himself in the future. It was awesome to be able to dream with him.

If you couldn't already tell, I love my husband. I love him more with each passing year, each passing day and each passing moment. I can't ever imagine my life without him. He is my heart.

I love you, babe. Happy Anniversary.

Bryce

So I have to have a little bragging time about my eldest son. I'm a mom, so I have that right! Last night we went to his parent/teacher conference and got an update on how he's doing. She said things such as he is a great student and well behaved. She said that if she had 24 Bryce's in her class, her job would be easy. She bragged on his attitude at school, the way he behaves, the way he works with other people. She showed us his report card and where he is with his reading and math, etc. He is in the top reading group in his class and she said she is constantly amazed at the things that he is able to read. (well so am I and Josh for that matter) He is reading at almost a second grade level. His journal writing she also said was very advanced for a first grader..he is able to come up with his own ideas to write about which is really good for his age. Again, his writing skills are above grade level. And finally math, she said that he tested the highest in his class for math skills. Above grade level. Oh, and one more thing..she said that in January they are going to be starting a spelling group for only a few students since not many first graders are able to really worry about spelling yet. She said that she is going to put Bryce in that spelling group since he is way beyond a normal first grade speller and she thinks he would benefit from it. Josh and I were so encouraged and proud after talking with his teacher. Especially me since I homeschooled him for most of last year and didn't screw him up! In fact she commented that maybe after all the kids are grown I should become a teacher! Anyway, we are so proud our our Bryce. Posted by Picasa

Pretty Ellyanna

I love this picture. I actually even took it surprisingly enough. Josh is teaching me a few tricks. Isn't she beautiful? Posted by Picasa

Our son the genius

So, the other day Jayden announced that he was going to write his name and then proceeded to do so. We have no idea where and when he learned to do this. Perhaps Bryce taught him, I don't know. But since he won't even be 4 until March, we thought it rather remarkable. Posted by Picasa

Superheros to the rescue!

Of course I couldn't pass by the picture of the boys in their superhero costumes. If Mr. Incredible and Spiderman got into a fight, which one would win? When Bryce first got his costume and tried in on a couple times before Halloween he would stand on the top of the coffee table and look at himself in the mirror and say something like "by the power of all the bumps on my arms!" and then proceed to jump off the table. It was really funny. Posted by Picasa

Nothing to say

Well, I was sitting out here wanting to say something on my blog, but really didn't have anything interesting to write about so I just decided to post some pictures and show off a little.

Being a mommy of 5

As of this Wednesday I will have officially been a mommy of 5 for 11 weeks. Time has just flown! I was thinking today about some things and in my "spare time" I decided to figure out some stats about having triplets. I thought they were interesting enought to share.

Every morning I like to prepare all the bottles for the day. Each morning I make 18 bottles. This adds up to 126 bottles per week or approximately 530 bottles per month. As I prepare the bottles I mix up about 78 oz of formula for the day. This is approximately an entire can of the Enfamil formula that they are on which costs $13.25 per can. This adds up to 545 oz of formula or $92.75 a week. If you want to be really shocked that would be 2340 oz of formula or $411 per month. Shocking!

At each feeding, each baby gets changed. That is 18 diapers a day, or $3.98 assuming that each diaper costs about $.22 each. This adds up to 126 diapers and $27.72 per week and 558 diapers and $122.76 per month.

I give the girls baths about twice a week at this point. That equals 6 baths a week, and 24 a month.

Along with all these diaper changes and bath times, I figure that I snap and re-snap outfits approximately 96 times per day! That equals about 672 snaps per week and 2976 per month. That's a lot of snaps!

The next statistic is based on our entire family. A couple weeks ago I wanted to see exactly how much laundry I was doing so I kept track. In order to keep up with all the laundry (not even get ahead, mind you..there was still always clothes to be washed) I did approximately 3 loads a day or 21 loads a week! This of course would equal 93 loads of laundry per month. Don't even get me started on the laundry soap!

I know this was silly and maybe a waste of my time, but I was curious about all these things and thought that someone might be interested. Although, I don't even know if anyone reads this, I update it so infrequently. Oh well, it's time to go feed babies again!
