My wife’s worst fear, which results in my most dreaded happening, happened. After reassuring my wife that she could not have heard and felt a bat in our room, she again saw what she prayed desperately was a huge moth. Sadly, tragically, it was not. While Kristi shielded herself deep under the covers, I grabbed a towell and trapped the beast as fast ad I possibly could. Had the bat not sqeaked and chirped loudly, I would have considered lying to my wife for the first time. No, I did not spare the ecologically important animal, I instead beat it to a pulp with a metal post pounder. Tomorrow (today), we will consider paying an exterminator whatever it takes… For I have failed in my initial attempt at exclusion. This fear for Kristi is similar to what I would feel waking up covered in large hairy fast spiders. I sure hope she is able to sleep tonight.
