Party for Bryce
Friday, June 24th, 2005Hello All,
I wanted to check on the date of July 16th for Bryce’s party. My brother is coming home on the 10th from boot camp and is going to be here for less than 2 weeks before he gets shipped off to who-knows-where. My grandma is flying out from Idaho to see him over that weekend so I thought that would be the best day to get everyone together. It will probably be an evening BBQ thing if that works for everyone. Let me know if that’s a good day for everyone and I’ll make it official and cement the plans.
Have a great day!
Kristi

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005This is pretty much where I am most of the time, in my basement office sitting in front of my computer, transcribing away.
This was a great idea to have this McKenney Family News site. No real news from Uncle Mike in Milwaukee right now, but I did enjoy reading every word and looking at every picture and video that has been posted here.
When I have something “newsworthy” I will be sure to post.

Sunday, June 19th, 2005Today is Fathers Day and I am thinking about the five fathers in our family today. I want you to know that I pray often for our son’s as you lead your family. I pray that you will not grow weary, as many men have. That every day you will show even more love than you did yesterday, to your wives and to your children. That God will truly be first in your lives, knowing that you can trust him to help you with every responsibility that you have. That in the end, He will say to you, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
I included Johnny with these Dad’s because now he has the great honor to be a grandfather to the cutest kids alive. I want them to remember him and the love he gave to them whenever he saw them.
Today would be my Dad’s 87th birthday. He didn’t know much about connecting with his kids, and he left almost all of the disciplining to our Mom. But he was a great man in so many ways, and I wouldn’t have traded him for anyone. I hold him close to my heart and I am so thankful for the last few years when he wasn’t hesitant to tell me that he loved me. (Sometimes even in tears.) I really believe he had many regrets, and that made me sad for him. So keep in mind to live without the regrets later on in your life. They can be too much to bear, and keep you from being all that God wants you to be.
Have a wonderful Father’s Day, David, Mike, Jason, Josh, and Dad, Love, Mom
