Random
In my old age (turning 30 in February) a lot of life's lessons are coming at me fast.
- I am not defined by what I do, but rather how I do it. Not by how much I make, but rather how I steward the money God gives me. I work for the Lord! Whether staring at a monitor, pressing a phone to my ear or creating the next best intuitive "thing", I do it for God.
- I will never reach a destination here on earth. I am a sojourner (thanks Dan). I am called to do and to go, not to be and to stay.
- I serve a God who is all powerful. He loves me and yet demands justice. Apart from the atoning sacrifice of Jesus I am empty
- Though I think I have much to say, words somehow disappear whilst blogging.

9 years of marriage
Today I got to work, started staring at the screen as usual and resting my elbow on the desk with my hand on my face. Today was different however in that I felt a rough spot on my cheek. At first I thought it was a rash or some sort of leprous wound. Then I realized I had missed a large portion of long hair as I shaved this morning.
You may laugh, but please turn that laughter into sympathy and sensitivity to my wife of nine years who has to claim me as a husband as I go out in various public places. Before I move on I must mention that I have named the portion on my face Flanagen. He's helping me work today.
9 years. 9 of the best years of my life. 9 years where every day is an adventure and where I am being challenged to be a better man, better husband and better father. 9 years of the incredible privilege of looking at the most beautiful woman on planet earth.
I've mentioned some of these things before, but they should be mentioned in public, to the world as long as it takes until everyone has heard.
My wife:
- Blows other wives out of the water. Seriously, 5 kids, a husband with a pet named Flanagen and she still smiles and loves.
- Gets more beautiful every day. Her smile is more captivating, her eyes more drawing, her skin more edible. I'll try to keep it pg here.
- Loves the Lord. Kristi has an honesty with God to be envied. She fully trusts Him and is not afraid to question Him when there is a misunderstanding. I believe God appreciates her honesty and answers her in time because of it.
- Loves our children. I have no doubt she would run into a fire for our kids. She daydreams about what she would do if the car was to go into water, so she will know how to get all the kids out.
- Is an amazing cook. Kristi can make up a recipe and have it be fantastic the first time almost every time. The fact that I remain under 200 lbs is a mystery scientists have yet to be able to solve.
- Has more common sense then anybody I know. Kristi can judge, discern and calculate situations without hardly thinking about them. Answers come to her quick.
- Did I mention she has perfect hands and feet? There's lots of other perfect parts too...
- Is a great listener. She cares about what I say.
- Is funny. She cracks me up!
- I only have one more minute on my break, which sucks because I could go on for a very long time... So I'll leave with one more. My wife is AWESOME. I can't imagine life without her.
