before and after

Recently Bryce accidently missed picture day at soccer. I took a shot in an attempt to photoshop him into the team picture... Although the sun was a bit higher, and I didn't have as much fill light on his face, it turned out pretty good: Before: After: Yeah, I know, the shadow isn't right, and I put his name in the wrong place... But it's a good example of how photoshop can be used.

Bryce's first published photo

Bryce took this on his new $20 camera...

My gosh you've gotten fat!

Babies are almost 7 lbs. now! They are eating about every 4.5 hours, and sleeping pretty well in between. Life almost seems normal now, even though it's drastically different. We're still spoiled though, with Grandma's helping and people from the church bringing meals. Once that help stops, we'll probably feel a little less normal again. This week we're going to start scheduling some people to come see the babies. Because there are a lot of people who want to come, we're not sure how we're going to schedule it right now. If you are very excited to come and hold the growing babies, please send me an email and let me know. Or call us at 503-667-4561 and leave a message. We look forward to seeing you. Posted by Picasa

Just like back when...

I recognize that hand! That's the hand that used to punch me all the time! Alright, who's is it? Huh? Show me your face! Posted by Picasa

Ear infections and pink eye

Bryce has infections in both ears and pink eye in both eyes:( Jayden has an ear infection as well. Needless to say, we could use your prayers for them and especially that the girls will not get any of it. Kynden is already showing a bit of congestion so she may already be a bit sick. Good news is Kristi is feeling much better and no longer has a fever.

first night home

A nurses nightmare

We promise we made them wash their hands and be very careful... Jayden would have ran away if we wouldn't have let him have a look;) Posted by Picasa

switched!!!

The keen eye will see that the order to the left is not 123! But 132! Yesterday, I accidently put the wrong ankle tag on Adelynn and the nurses didn't notice until we told them when we came in today to pick them up. I guess if they were identical, I probably would have been a lot more careful yesterday.... Sorry for blogging this out of order... Should have gone below the next few posts... Posted by Picasa

When the triplets come home...

Holy smokes the babies are coming home soon! 30% chance that Adelynn and Kynden will come home tomorrow. But Kristi and I are still trying to decide on that. It would be very difficult to visit Ellyanna if the other two are at home. But at least by early next week, all three will be at home! Bryce started school yesterday and has soccer practice tomorrow night. It's a big week for him! The nurses and doctors at the hospital are doing an excellent job at convincing Kristi and I that our babies should not be treated like full term babies. They are doing excellent, but they are still only technically 34 weeks old. For at least 2-3 weeks after they come home, we are going to have to limit the number of visitors to only family. This is unfortunate, because we really want to have people see our beautiful little ones! But for the time being, their immune systems, sensitive eating and sleeping cycles and other factors have to be treated extremely delicately. Grandmas will be around very often helping us with feeding etc. Kristi and I will likely take turns on the 11pm and 2pm eating times after we get good at taking care of all three by ourselves. 5am might be taken by Grandma Sue for a while. Overwhelming? Yes... Exciting? Unbelievably. We can't wait for them to come home! I got to go out today at their 5pm feeding and they were so adorable. They all are without their feeding tubes and Kynden even has her monitor off now! They are all filling out... In fact, their weights are up to: Ellyanna is up to 4lbs. 6.4oz Adelynn is up to 4lbs. 13.2 oz Kynden is up to 4lbs. 14.4oz Please pray for wisdom as Kristi and I decide whether to take Adelynn and Kynden home tomorrow or if we should wait until the weekend. Posted by Picasa

Babies home soon!!!

It's always a good time to DANCE, DANCE! Even in a fifth wheel outside the hospital on a 5 inch screen! --- We learned today that Kynden and Adelynn could come home as early as Wednesday or Thursday!!!! Ellyanna could come home a few short days after that. There's also the possibility that we may wait a bit until they can all come home at once because we're not sure how we could visit one while the others are at home. It's a bit too early to decide but we're extremely excited that the babies will be coming home very soon. For the first few weeks while they are at home, we have orders from our nurses that only close relatives that are helping out should visit and hold the babies. However, we don't want to deter people from coming at all. There may be some good times to come while they are feeding so that we can at least show how stinking cute they are. Or if you want to come and spend some quality time with the boys we wouldn't turn that down either. Feel free to call us. We may not always answer... But we don't mind the calls at all! Posted by Picasa

Ellyanna

PERSPective

Hard to believe the girls are already 1 week and 3 days old. They are all doing really well. In fact, a few times yesterday all three of them ate completely from a bottle! This is fantastic news as this will be one of the main reasons they get to come home. They are all also gaining weight. And by the way, they get cuter every day. Kristi is doing well too. It looks like she is completely off of narcotics to ease the pain from everything she is recovering from. And she is keeping up with the milk needs of the babies. That's a difficult task! The boys are doing as good as can be expected. The schedule we've been keeping, along with all the changes, are keeping the boys "on the edge." But they are doing very well and excited for the girls to come home. This weekend we're staying in a fifth wheel parked outside the hospital. A gracious couple from Good Shepherd brought it to the hospital for us. We're very thankful to have a place to crash and rest in between feedings etc. If you want to come by this weekend, we'd love to see you. You may want to call before you come: 347-4131. Posted by Picasa
