we've got one!
update: we've got an rv! thanks for those who were considering.
I'm hoping to have lots of features for the family to use... Gallery, calendar etc. Let me know if you have ideas.
We have had a couple of people graciously offer to let us use their RV's while the babies are at the hospital. Unfortunately, due to other circumstances, the timing hasn't worked out. There's a 20% chance that someone might be bringing a fifth wheel to the hospital tonight. We really hope it works out so that we can be at the hospital more over the next week. If it doesn't, we'd love to have another possibility in the works. If you know of anybody that would be willing to let us borrow theirs, please let us know. We would greatly appreciate it!!! As early as tonight would be ideal. Thanks! Call me on my cell: 503-347-4131.
Unfortunately, Kynden has to go back on cpap for part of today. But the nurses are confident it should only be a day or two before she's able to come off and start eating better.
weights are actually: Ellyanna 9:43pm 3 lbs 14 oz 16 ¾” long 11 ¼ head Adelynn 9:48pm 4 lbs 8 oz 17 ½” long 12” head Kynden 9:50pm 4 lbs 7 oz. 17 ¼” long 12” head
Thank God my wife is doing well and my 3 32 week babies are doing well too! Last night at around 8pm we asked the doctor if there was any pain medication Kristi could take because she was very uncomfortable. She was having a hard time sitting, rolling, walking etc. Me and the boys were watching Spongebob Square Pants. The Doctor said he wanted to take a look and make sure it wasn't labor. Me and the boys went out in the hall and when the doctor came out his stride was fast! When we went back into Kristi's room there was quickly around 4 nurses and Kristi told me she was dilated 5cm!!! I'm so glad I was there and that Sue was able to come quickly to watch the boys so I could be with Kristi in the operating room. Everything happened extremely quickly. Bryce was excited, Jayden was soon out fast asleep. C-section went well and the babies came out within the same 5 minute period. They are the most incredible little girls I have ever seen. At 4lb 14oz, 5lb 7oz and 5lb 8.5 oz they are very good size triplets. But man they are small compared to what the boys were. Baby a is breathing completely on her own and is actually going to be breast feeding right away! Baby b and c are on cpap breathing apparatus but doing well. We hope that they can come off of those soon. I believe they were all born somewhere in the 9-10 o'clock hour last night. Kristi didn't get to see them after being cleaned until about 1:30am and we finally got to bed shortly after 2am. In a few minutes, we get to go to the nicu again and see our girls. I'll take lots more pictures and will have a full gallery up before noon. Thanks for praying everybody!
she's 5 cm! They are going to be coming tonight! Thank you Lord. Kristi was having a lot of pain so we asked if she could have some better stuff then tylonal.. they checked her and things are moving extremely fast. The girls will be here most likely before tomorrow! Feel free to call my cell phone... Josh
So tomorrow I am offically 32 weeks pregnant! This is a huge accomplishment. (Yea, me!) I am very glad and relieved to have made it to this point. I had an ultrasound today that was probably the last baby ultrasound of my entire life. If all the numbers and estimations are correct, all together I have 13 pounds and 6 ounces of baby in me! The babies are enormous for their age! Baby A is 3lbs, 13oz, Baby B is 4lbs, 12oz, and Baby C is a whopping 4lbs 13oz! They didn't tell me percentages, but baby c and b's tummys were measuring around 35+ weeks. We do tend to have children with large tummies if any of you can remember Bryce and Jayden. The doctor also measured my uterus and it is measuring in at 45 weeks! (FYI: full term size of a uterus is 40 weeks) Dr. Kennedy checked my cervix and said that it feels about the same..however for the past 3 days or so I have definitely been feeling more crampy and more contractions than before. My feeling is that we will have 3 more additions to our family before this time next week. How much baby can a little uterus hold anyway?
Kristi's ultrasound showed some progression today in the form of no cervix length. She hasn't technically dilated, but she has no length of the cervix anymore. So she won't be able to come home:( If you have some time, drive out to visit Kristi. If you want to go in the evening, you could hitch a ride with us, just let us know. And feel free to call Kristi as well.
Dr. Kennedy checked Kristi the morning and said things were good! In fact, there had been no progression that she could tell. Small chance that Kristi might actually be able to come home tomorrow after her ultrasound! If she doesn't, please consider a time when you can come out and visit. She'd love to see you!
We know all of the good parking spots and elevators now. We know what food is best at the cafeteria and which cafe/cafeteria you should go to. We can also point you to the best nurses and doctors as well.
Me, Bryce and Jayden stayed here in Kristi's room Friday and Saturday night. We brought the little popup tent that Grandma Sue gave us.
Me and the boys are here at the hospital again with Kristi. Kristi said it was an extremely boring day. Stinks to be 30-60 minutes from friends and family. No news is good news. The longer the babies stay in, it decreases the amount of time they will need to be in the nicu exponentially. Each day could mean 2-3 less days they will have to stay in the nicu. Kristi and I are trying to figure out how life during the nicu is going to be. We have an offer of the use of an RV to park here at the hospital, but it is unavailable for the last week of August... which is when the babies will be born. If anybody happens to know somebody who knows somebody who has a parked RV for the next month, we'd be humbled to have use of it. Best we can tell, Kristi will be here round the clock for approximately 3-5 weeks. When the babies are born, I'm going to take two weeks off of work. After that we'll be back to a similar schedule to now... Me and the boys visiting Kristi nightly. Grace is already greatly helping us with meals delivered to us on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a HUGE blessing. My mom, Kristi's mom, my sister and sister-in-law have been huge helps either helping and visiting Kristi or watching the boys while I'm at work. My mom has been a significant help at our house, cleaning and helping with the boys above and beyond the call of duty. The girls are coming soon! Oh, by the way, Kristi's new room number is 503-216-7310.
Kristi went in for a checkup today and had dialated some more. So she's back in and we're 99% sure she won't be home until after the babies are born. The doctor was not optimistic that she would make it to 32 weeks. Best guess is that she may make it another week or so which would put the babies at 31 weeks. I'll be going out to visit Kristi tonight with the boys. If you're in the area, drop by to say hi to Kristi. We'll keep the blog updated.
The doctors finally saw the light and let Kristi come home today. She is still on strict bedrest. Bryce, Jayden and I are very happy to have Kristi home. Next week, we're not sure what exactly is going to happen. If you are able to come by during the day to visit or to be of assistance to Kristi while I am at work, we would be very thankful. We deeply appreciate the help everyone has been so far! Thankful, Josh
Got to take Kristi on a walk yesterday. Overall Kristi has a fantastic attitude and the nurses really like her. But she is definitely getting home sick. She misses the boys very much. I stayed here last night and am thinking about bringing a blowup bed... Worked this morning and am going to head back to the office in the afternoon. Then me and the boys will come back this evening. Come if you can. Don't hesitate to call as well: 503-216-7318.
Kristi has been on the oral medication for a few days now and it is working great. It's nice that she doesn't have to be on an iv. Unfortunately, her ultrasound today revealed that her cervix is shorter than it was last week when they checked so coming home tomorrow is out of the question. They are going to re-evaluate on Thursday. So far, the boys and I have been able to see Kristi everyday. But for a number of reasons, I don't know if we are going to be able to keep up that pace. We're thinking about renting an apartment out here;) I'm staying here tonight with Kristi and the boys are at Grandma's house. Josh
